創客風潮襲全球 勞部辦擂台競賽
: 【台灣醒報記者王淯意台北報導】「創客」精神正當道！一群酷愛科技、熱衷實踐的人們，彼此分享技術，並與交流為樂。勞動部30日舉辦第2屆「百萬創客擂台競賽」揭幕活動，邀請第1屆冠軍－以「開源電動義肢手」作品得名的張憲良分享其創作經驗。勞動部長許明春表示，期望民眾藉由競賽激發創意，開創更美好的未來。
第2屆「百萬創客擂台競賽」正式起跑！本次競賽以「打造你的未來生活」為題，勞動部表示，希望民眾可從日常生活中洞悉未來生活的藍圖，進而開創各式結合科技與人性的作品，實現更加便利、友善的未來。許明春說，儘管AI時代來臨，人類的「創意」仍永遠不會被機器人取代。
她表示，創新是改變社會的動能，更是無法被科技取代的重要能力，因此勞動部在所屬勞動力發展署五分署成立創客基地，提供民眾機具設備與師資，引領他們學習新科技與跨領域整合，開發創意潛能，並盼能透過該競賽進一步落實創新的實踐。
勞動部30日舉辦競賽揭幕活動，邀請第1屆的冠軍得主－TMF台灣奇蹟之指（透過3D掃描、3D建模、3D列印零件），創作者張憲良本身為身障人士，他表示，希望藉由他的故事，激勵更多與他處境相同的人。他的作品是藉由不帶電的方式，幫手部截肢者設計義肢，目前已替8位身障者免費設計義肢，最遠曾至馬來西亞接洽過。
現在他也正著手「義肢計畫」，尋求醫院、學校、企業、義肢公司與3D列印公司做資助，創立一個非營利的社會企業。並預計開班授課義肢製作，屆時會把義肢送至戰亂、落後國家。
為鼓勵民眾實現創意夢想，將創新想法化為具體可行的商品，勞動部107年30日開啟第2屆「百萬創客擂台競賽」徵件活動（至10月31日止），冠軍作品將可奪得高達195萬元的高額獎金。
熱！紐約近百地鐵車廂空調「罷工」
: 紐約市進入夏季以來持續高溫，但每日數百萬客流的地鐵系統，卻有近百個地鐵車廂空調不工作，約占總地鐵車廂總數的2%。
據「紐約郵報」報導，最近三個月裡，共有714件關於紐約市地鐵車廂炎熱的投訴，比去年同期380條多了近一倍。
儘管大都會運輸署(MTA)主席洛塔(Joseph Lhota)在4月初曾表示，將確保今年夏天紐約市不再有由空調損壞導致的「高溫車廂」，但到目前為止，依舊有大約100個地鐵車廂的地鐵出現空調問題，約占紐約市地鐵車廂總數的2%。
MTA回應指出，全市5356個地鐵車廂中，98%的絕大部分列車車廂空調還是運轉正常；但MTA了解任何乘客都不應在夏天裡，於高溫車廂忍受煎熬，該部門在盡力搶修有製冷問題的列車。
MTA指，每周都會對90%到95%的列車車廂進行溫度測試；根據六月最後一周數據，有46個列車車廂發現空調不工作問題，比去年同期的39個問題車廂多了七個。
據大都會運輸署數據，2016年夏天，每天平均有12至16個地鐵車廂被報告出現製冷問題；大都會運輸署表示，已經新僱傭190名機械維修工對出現空調製冷問題的車廂進行檢查和維修。
